M2M Connectivity distributes a range of satellite products from Quake, Stellar, Axonn and Sierra Wireless, suited for use in water security/monitoring and environmental monitoring applications. We work with the three leading satellite network operators, Globalstar Simplex, Orbcomm and Iridium.  These three networks are designed to work with telemetry style messages which is ideal for use in water security and environmental monitoring and each has unique features that suit different applications 

The Globalstar Simplex network is a simplex network best suited to applications that do not need 2-way communications. Some hardware options have Dry-contact digital inputs which can be used for applications such as tank / water level monitoring and door open-close monitoring applications. Simplex is ideal for applications needing a quick time to market with finished modems ready to be installed.  Further the modems are designed to work with an included battery for extended periods of up to 7 years without the need for external power.  

The Orbcomm Network allows 2-way telemetry communications and is suited to applications where non time-critical data can be exchanged between the backend server and the remote asset. Low cost messaging coupled with many hardware options including programmable modems and dual mode (Orbcomm/GSM) devices allow for this network to be used a wide variety of applications. 

The Iridium short burst data (SBD) network offers global network coverage with low latency of messages. Iridium hardware can be controlled by AT commands and is easily integrated into applications where the controllers can communicate over the serial port using AT commands. The Iridium network is ideal for use in applications needing low latency communications especially emergency and mission critical applications.
