From their presence at Hannover Fair, connectBlue reports on some interesting trends within the industrial sphere and wireless technologies. One trend was a great need for Wireless Ethernet replacement solutions. The new Bluetooth Modules from connectBlue attracted much attention with the possibility to embed customers’ applications and thereby offer a cost efficient solution. This proves to be of particular interest as it allows many smaller devices to go wireless where going wireless in the past has been cost prohibitive.
Wireless LAN Ethernet Port Adapter Series Expanded
Based either on Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11an or IEEE 802.11bgn, the new Rugged Ethernet Port Adapters – RWE231i (2.4GHz) and RWE241i (5GHz) – optimize the installation process as well as lower the installation costs in demanding applications.
The built-in antennas feature a unique half globe radio coverage pattern. Thanks to the SMART configuration mode, the user can simply just push a button when configuring and initiate automatic configuration. In addition, there is a web browser configuration tool. The products support WEP64, WEP128, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, TKIP, CCMP (AES), LEAP, PEAP and are radio type approved for Europe, US and Canada (R&TTE, FCC, IC). Further, the products are configurable to optimize for Profinet.
High Performing 1.2km Long Range Bluetooth Module
Besides the exceptional long range of 1.2km, the Bluetooth module OEM Serial Port Adapter™ 433 also presents high throughput and the unique Extended Data Mode™ protocol which makes individual data channel communication possible for each unit in the 7-slave multi-point network.
Recap from Hannover Messe
It was clear that the volcanic ash of Eyjafjallajökull did shrink the number of attendees of the Hannover Fair, but for connectBlue it had limited affect. In fact, connectBlue had the opportunity to meet with more key customers than usual.
We saw some interesting trends within the industrial sphere and wireless technologies. For instance, there was a great need for Wireless Ethernet replacement solutions. Further, a lot of attention was given to our new Bluetooth Modules that have the possibility to embed customers’ applications and thereby offer a cost efficient solution. This possibility has proven to be of particular interest for many smaller devices that have not been able to go wireless in the past due to cost issues. Read more about connectBlue at Hannover Messe…
In order to better visualize the impressive customer base, connectBlue has launched a new case study section of its website where all applications gets a tailored web page. Below are the two latest additions of case studies.
Wireless Enables Customer Efficiency
The connectBlue solutions can be found in connectivity solutions where the operator wants to tighten a safety critical joint inside the car – in other words, in “quality and productivity critical applications,” Jonas Lundgren, Project Manager Tensor STB at Atlas Copco.
