Melbourne, Australia – September 7, 2013: M2M Connectivity announces that Bluetooth low energy modules from connectBlue have passed radio type approvals in Japan which expands the use of these products into the Japanese market.

connectBlue’s wireless offering consists of Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy and Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions. The Classic Bluetooth and WLAN modules are already radio type approved for Japan. Now passed for use in Japan are the connectBlue Bluetooth Low Energy Platform Module OLP425, Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS425 and Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS426.

“Since all our wireless modules have Japanese radio type approvals, our customers can freely choose any connectBlue module to bring to market there,” says Rolf Nilsson, CEO of connectBlue.

Wireless equipment to be used in Japan must be radio type approved by assigned certification bodies according to Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). These certificates are issued once proper testing is completed by specifically appointed laboratories.
