Melbourne , Australia – December 1, 2009: M2M Connectivity, the Australian and New Zealand distributor of Quake Global satellite products is pleased to announce the availability of Quake’s Q9612 Modem for the Iridium satellite network.
The Q9612 satellite transceiver combines the global coverage of the Iridium Satellite Network which incorporates 66 low-earth-orbit satellites, with the low latency of the Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) service. Typical global latency of the Q9612 is less than thirty seconds, making the Q9612 appropriate not only for routine communications but also for utilization in applications where delays in communication are unacceptable, such as those involving safety and emergency situations. The Q9612 is an ideal solution for information-critical applications in almost every part of the globe.
The Q9612 is contained within a small footprint package measuring 109mm x 64mm x 19mm and is designed to optimize two-way data links. The Q9612 module has 9-18V power conditioning, can be installed directly onto a 12V vehicle, and is interfaced with an RS-232 serial port. The modem is programmable through an AT Command Set Interface.
• Withstand 12V Automotive Transients
• AT Command Interface
• Small, low-profile Footprint
