M2M Connectivity is pleased to announce the addition of a new range to our satellite products.  We now offer a range of tracking and tracing systems from GTT Systems B.V.  The quality GTTS trackers use the Iridium satellite network to effectively track and trace assets worldwide. In this newsletter, we feature the easy-to-install, rugged GTTS-2000B, an Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) battery powered modem with fully integrated antennas and battery.

NEW GTTS-2000B Iridium SBD Tracker

GTTS-2000BThe GTTS-2000B is an Iridium SBD battery powered modem for track and trace of assets globally using the Iridium satellite network. It is powered from an internal battery and includes internal Iridium and GPS antennas, all integrated in an all-weather-proof housing.  The optional magnet mounting onto a (ferrous) steel surface will automatically activate the unit.

The GTTS-2000B modem reports GPS location and speed at defined time intervals over Iridium SBD network to your PC/server.  The reporting time intervals are controlled by an integrated motion sensor which distinguishes driving/sailing from stand still. Reporting frequency and other settings are “Over The Air” reconfigurable.  The GTTS-2000B can send approximately 3650 messages from one battery.  If the GTTS-2000B is removed from the steel surface, it will send a tamper message and will switch itself off.

NEW NV08C-MINI PCI-E GNSS Receiver

NV08C-Mini PCI-EThe NVO8C receiver series feature full GNSS support of GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and are also ready for future systems including GALILEO and COMPASS.  The NV08C receiver is ideal for applications such as IVSS and feature options of Assisted GNSS (A-GNSS) interface and dead reckoning.

The NV08C-Mini PCI-E is a fully integrated GNSS receiver module, optimised for Mini PCI Express (Mini-PCIe) based applications. Its key feature is its full compatibility with GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, COMPASS (GNSS), and EGNOS, WAAS, MSAS and GAGAN (SBAS).

It is specifically designed for use in a wide range of computer-based navigation, positioning and timing equipment enabled with a Mini-PCIe interface, demanding uncompromised GNSS performance. The NV08C-Mini PCI-E offers high sensitivity, high performance acquisition and tracking, NMEA and raw data outputs, plus Differential (D-GNSS) and Assisted GNSS (A-GNSS) functions.

Antennas for (433/868/900/2450Mhz) ISM Bands

Radiocrafts Wireless M-Bus

Radiocrafts wireless M-Bus modules support the complete Wireless M-Bus protocol. The modules meet OMS, DSMR, and CIG requirements and are fully compliant with all specifications.  OMS, Open Metering System specification group supporting Wireless M-Bus, has now adopted 433 MHz channel version suitable for Australia, and it is part of the open standard.

Tech Tip:  IP Manager for  Sierra Wireless AirLink modem

Most of ISPs provide dynamic public IP address which changes often. For applications such as remote management, changing IP address is significant issue where you can’t keep track of the changing IP address on the device in field. IP manager is a free service offered by Sierra Wireless on AirLink products (Raven XE, GX400 routers) which translates Sierra Wireless AirLink modem’s dynamic IP address to a fully qualified domain name, thus enabling you contact your modem (ALEOS powered) directly from internet using a domain name.

Example: You can remotely access your AirLink router using Domain name m2mconnectivity.earlink.com.
