In some cases, a SIM card slot is not available on computer mainboards. If the mainboard has a miniPCIe interface, then a Riser Card can be used for the SIM slot on the mainboard, which allows users to make voice calls, or browse the Internet.
The MM3U-RiserCard is for miniPCIe standard cards, such as the Sierra Wireless MC Series modules.
