Cellular IoT is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to connect your devices to the internet.

Our cellular services deliver secure connectivity using existing network infrastructure – simplifying deployment.

Operating on Australia’s best networks, our cellular solutions work right out of the box, provide excellent coverage, and perform well in mobile, indoor or outdoor environments.

Whether you require high-throughput connectivity via LTE (Cat 4-18) or low-throughput high-battery-life applications via LTE Cat M1/NB-IoT and Cat 1 networks, our experts can guide you to the best solution.

Why Cellular?

Cellular is useful in locations where mobile networks can be accessed. Cellular connections eliminate the need to build new infrastructure. Plus, offer enhanced reliability and greater security – when compared to shared networks.

Security is one of the key reasons to use Cellular. Connecting to a cellular network keeps devices separate from other internet-connected devices. Cellular connections also feature built-in authentication.

Historically, battery life had been a limitation of cellular connectivity, but Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) and modern sensors have resolved this.

Key advantages

  • Reliable connectivity – excellent coverage via national carrier networks
  • Ease of deployment – plug and play right out of the box
  • Secure connectivity – closed environment and built-in authentication
  • Environment agnostic – performs in mobile, indoor, and outdoor applications
  • Flexible bandwidths – supports low and high bandwidth

Key applications

Cellular connectivity will perform well in a wide range of indoor, mobile and outdoor environments. It is ideal for asset tracking, environmental monitoring, supply chain management, emergency services, healthcare, and security.

It is used to:

  • Health – monitoring patient health and transmitting critical data
  • Agriculture and farming – monitoring water and feed levels or soil moisture
  • Supply chain – monitoring food temperature and location on the move
  • Emergency services – relaying vehicle data to increase fleet efficiencies

The M2M Advantage

Over 17 years of delivering cellular technologies for M2M/IoT, from early analogue days with CDMA, 2G/GSM and 3G networks, to now specialising in LTE networks across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Market leaders – offering IoT hardware services backed by Sierra Wireless
  • End-to-End solution management – providing clarity and control of devices, SIMs and services
  • Established partnerships – with Australia leading network providers
  • In-house IOT engineering – Capable of solution design, device and network management to full integration
  • Global hardware portfolio – Access to one of the world’s most comprehensive IoT hardware portfolios

Helping you deploy the right solution

Our priority is to understand your needs before recommending devices or a total cellular IoT solution. We can provide cellular connectivity via LTE, LTE-NBIoT or 5G.

LTE High Speed
(up to Cat 18)

LTE is ideal for M2M and IoT applications including video and data streaming. It offers speeds from around of 10 Mb/s downlink and 5 Mb/s uplink. For Cat 1 all the way up to 1.2 Gb downlink /211 Mb uplink at Cat 18.

LTE Cat M1

LTE Cat M1 is ideal for IoT/M2M applications needing to send more data. It provides a low power broad coverage connection with speeds of up to 1Mb downlink/uplink, full mobility and support for VoLTE voice.

LTE NB-IoT

LTE NB-IoT is designed for static IoT applications for indoor and very wide-area coverage, with long battery life. It is suitable for low data applications e.g. Three SMS-size messages per day. It does not support mobile applications. Data throughput is around 26 kbit/s downlink.

5G

LTE NB-IoT is designed for static IoT applications for indoor and very wide-area coverage, with long battery life. It is suitable for low data applications e.g. Three SMS-size messages per day. It does not support mobile applications. Data throughput is around 26 kbit/s downlink. > Learn More
